James Parker, Lorryman, died suddenly at his residence in Queen Street, on Thursday morning. He was taken suddenly ill on Tuesday evening, when he had just completed his work, and had to be removed home in a cab, where he was attended by 'doctors Clark and Campbell. His suffering was most severe during the night, till mortification set in, when he died on Wednesday morning. His wife gave birth to a daughter ten minutes after he died. The event was a great surprise to most people and has excited a deal of sympathy for the widow left with two children. Deceased was 29 years of age, and in the employment of Woodie & Co., in which occupation he was well-known and much respected by those with whom his duties brought him into contact.
