On Tuesday a boy named Samuel Scott, aged 12 years. son of John Scott, labourer, King Street, was drowned in the Cree. at a place known as Linloskin, about a mile from the town: A man named Marshall, who was passing near the spot, perceived the boy's danger, and went to his assistance. He found that being unable to swim, he could not reach the boy. although only' about three yards apart, but wrenching a paling bar close at hand he held it out, and as he did so the boy sank. The man; however, succeeded in dragging out the body a few minutes after.
