During the month of July we have had a deal of rain, and at the beginning of August there is no improvement. On Tuesday we had the Lammas spate, and the Cree overflowed its banks. The long continued wet weather is greatly injuring the potato crop, and which will now, in all likelihood, prove a failure. Much of the ryegrass is cut and exposed to the wet, while a good deal remains to be cut. Every blink of sunshine is taken advantage of. Many a rick was got up on Tuesday and Wednesday of last week. Sunday again was a good drying day, but the rain since has interfered with the work. Ryegrass and meadow hay will be a fair average in bulk, but the quality is doubtful. Turnips are growing immensely. A continuance of wet weather will not be n their favour. Oats are a heavy crop, and unless we have more sunshine for ripening harvest will be later this year. Pasture is in abundance, and stock are thriving well.
