The Rev. Mr McLean of the Established Church intimated on Sabbath last that the Church Court had unanimously agreed to a petition laid before them praying that instead of sitting to sing and stand to prayer, it should be the reverse. It had now become customary in most churches, and was the mode adopted until the middle of the seventeenth century, and that in Orkney and Shetland it never had been changed. The Court met on Monday for the purpose of hearing objections, and it was to he understood that those who did not come forward and object were favourable or acquiesced. The change will commence on Sabbath first..
