SUNDAY SCHOOL EXCURSION

The children attending the Penninghame Sunday School had their annual excursion, accompanied by the teachers, yesterday (Wednesday). The Cairnsmore grounds were kindly thrown open for the occasion by Major and Mrs Stewart, and the children, numbering upwards of 200, were conveyed there in vehicles, a distance of five miles. Before starting there was a alight shower of rain, but it was soon over, and afterwards, with a fresh wind and bright sunshine, an ample supply of refreshments and a number of various amusements, the beautiful grounds combined made it a happy day to the children.
