E. L. Sheppard
Dies in Hospital

Many friends were saddened to learn of the death of Edward L. Sheppard, 202 St. James Street, which occurred at the Saint John general Hospital Thursday evening following a short illness.† Born in County Down, Ireland he was the son of the late George and Harriet Sheppard and had resided in the city for the past 42 years.

Mr. Sheppard was a member of St. Davidís United Church, a 52 year member of the Independent Order of Foresters and a member of the Orange Lodge No 141.

He is survived by his wife, the former Florence Phoebe Farmer, one son Sidney W. Sheppard, two daughters, Mrs. Alvin Flewelling, Lancaster; Mrs. Lawrence Foster, Saint John: two brothers, William and Percy both of Ontario: one sister Mrs. Ethel A. Elks, Devonport, England: nine grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

The body is resting at Brenanís Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, from where the funeral service will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 oíclock.† Internment will take place at Fernhill Cemetry.
