MAKER is a parish 2 miles south-west from Devonport, in the eastern division of the county, St. Germans' Union, East deanery Cornwall archdeaconry, and Exeter bishopric. The church of St. Macra a stone building of the time of Henry VII; has tower, nave, aisle, transept, porch, chancel, 6 bells, font, old register chest, and one painted window. The living is a vicarage, worth £224 yearly, with residence and ten acres of glebe land, in the gift of the Crown; the Rev. Edward Trelawny, M.A., is the incumbent; the Rev. Flavel Cook, M.A., is the is the incumbent of Millbrook. There are chapels for Wesleyans and Baptists at Millbrook; also a National school for boys and girls maintained by subscriptions, and there are three Sunday schools held at Millbrook Church, Wesleyan, and Baptists. MILLBROOK a is a village in the parish of Maker,in the east division of the County, Union of St. Germans, and Hundred of Roborough, 2 miles north-west from Maker church, 4-1/2 west from Plymouth, 5 south-west front Torpoint, situate on a branch of the river Tamar.
